​My name is Philasande Mnguni and I am a film director focused on storytelling which looks at the human experience within complex social and cultural landscapes. By using tools such as atmosphere and emotional resonance I craft intimate, morally complex stories navigating environments shaped by class, tradition, and circumstance. Having completed my Bachelor’s in Film Production from SAE Institute I entered into the work force through the camera department. Working on productions that have been distributed to networks ranging from Showmax to International Film Festivals has grown my approach to composing rigorous technical skill with artistic curation and performance.
